There’s nothing more important than safety when it comes to your children—or, for that matter, your furry children. At CES 2015, a number of companies will show off tools for keeping families safe.

Child Angel gives parents peace of mind by combining GPS, wi-fi, and GSM technologies in a small wristband that tracks the location of a child. The wristband is designed to be lightweight and water resistant. The band will alert parents if it is removed or if children exit customized safe zones. Child Angel will have a working prototype at CES; it launched an Indigogo campaign on January 2, 2015 to help fund further production.

Tagg will be at CES 2015 to debut its Tagg GPS Plus, the first update to Tagg's original GPS tracker introduced in 2012 to track pet location and activity. The GPS Plus has a redesigned collar attachment, a temperature sensor, and an updated pet activity monitor to help owners identify changes in patterns and assist in early detection of illness. The GPS Plus also provides driving directions to a pet’s location, making it easier to retrieve lost pets.

Weenect will be bringing Weenect Pets and Weenect Kids to CES 2015. Weenect Pets is a rugged waterproof GPS tracking device that allows owners to see real-time pet location via map, compass, or augmented reality (using the camera) on a mobile phone. The device sends alerts when an animal travels outside pre-set safe zones. Weenect Kids, a tracking device for children, was launched in France in 2013 with similar tracking technology. Weenect Kids includes an SOS button and the ability for parents to view a seven-day history of each child's movements. Weenect expects to launch both the Kids and Pets devices internationally via Kickstarter in 2015.

Trax, another GPS tracker company, is rumored to have two new trackers at CES – the Trax Ping and the Trax Mini. The Ping is small enough to be placed in a wallet, while the Mini comes with a collar for your favorite furry friend.

A host of other new family safety devices are scheduled to debut at CES, such as BlueMaestro's Pacif-i, a bluetooth-enabled smart pacifier that records a child's temperature and allows parents to track medicine administered vs. temperature over time; Impecca’s Alert Band that monitors driver fatigue and sends automatic alerts 3-5 minutes before a driver falls asleep; and BlackBox Biometrics' Linx IAS, a sportsband that records and rates sports impacts based on concussion potential. The iSwimband drowning-prevention device, though not a new product, will show off a new Android app and improved silicon bands. {{ photo_gallery name="New Gallery" }}
