Fitbit has unveiled its newest product, the Fitbit Blaze, at CES 2016. Half fitness tracker, half smartwatch, the Blaze is a unified smart fitness watch that finally combines these two products into one.

According to Fitbit CEO James Park, the development of the Fitbit Blaze was driven by Fitbit's mission of "helping people lead healthier, more active lives through data, inspiration and guidance to reach their goals."

The Blaze boasts a high-res color touchscreen, multiple bands (including leather and stainless steel), and a customizable watch face. Wearers can opt to receive notifications for phone calls, messages, and calendar appointments with their Blaze, and can also control music from the wrist.

The Blaze's software includes Fitbit's SmartTrack, which automatically recognizes different types of activities (like biking, hiking, soccer, and tennis), and PurePulse continuous heart rate monitoring. Blaze can also access your phone’s GPS to provide distance and pace information on the watch face, and will automatically track your sleep each night—then wake you with a vibrating alarm. Wearers can view Fitbit's FitStar program on the face, which displays instructions and images to guide you through three of FitStar's most popular exercise routines.

As with all Fitbit trackers, Blaze wearers can access the Fitbit app to view historical fitness data, set fitness goals, and track weight and calories. Battery life is about five days on a single charge.

Fitbit's Chief Revenue Officer Edward Scal said, "[Blaze] is a product with a purpose. You're getting smart, fitness, and style all in one." The Fitbit Blaze will be available for $199.95 on March 1, 2016.
